tar command : error: file changed as we read it

Hi

When I try to tar a directory, I get the following error. Can anyone explain what is means

File changed as we read it

and at the end tar says

error exit delayed from previous messages

Everything seems to be fine, but what could be wrong

I use the command

tar cvzf myarchive .

So I did build the archive in the directory I wanted to archive.

When I use

tar cvzf /home/user/myarchive .

I don't have these errors.

Can anyone explain this to me

Kind regards
Sneeze

Youre trying to archive . into ./myarchive which is obviously part of .

It is generally a better idea to do a cd .. before, and
tar cvzf arch.tgz mydirectory
or
tar cvzf ../arch.tgz .
