System monitoring commands?

What kind of commands can I run to get system information? I'm not looking for any certain stuff, just informative information about my server. Thanks in advance.

Like what? Command line or GUI front ends? For a GUI front end use gkrellm, by default it shows you CPU usage, proc, users currently logged in, network status, clock, etc. and you can get various plugins for gkrellm to monitor other stuff, also there are tools available to retrive various logs from your system, and you can make your own, check http://freshmeat.net

I'm looking for built in modules to the command line. Nothing 3rd party.
