Sync Mobile Phone

Hi guys,
Ive just wiped my hard drive to rearrange the partitions, and it feels good not to have windows anymore :p but sadly i think im going to have to reinstall it sometime.

Ive got a samsung E900 mobile phone, and i need to be able to sync the phone with my pc to store old message, and put music on it etc.

Ive tried using wine to run the tools that came with it (Samsung PC studio), it runs, it just never picks up the phone when its scanning for it through the usb.

Is there any alternative i can use?

Thanks
Kane

I just got my daughter an E900.

My understanding from other forums is that Linux will detect and mount the memory card in the expansion slot as usb-storage, but only the Samsung software will access the on board memory.

I have not tried it with a memory card yet, but I can confirm that my Mandriva Linux detects the memory card slot but of course does not find any partitions.

usbcore: registered new driver usb-storage
USB Mass Storage support registered.
usb-storage: device found at 4
usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning
Vendor: Agere Model: MMCSD Card Rev: 1.00
Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 00
usb-storage: device scan complete

The other alternative I have seen on other forums is to use a Bluetooth dongle to transfer files to the phone.
