switch user for the whole KDE session, not just the Konsole

I'm logged on to my KDE session as a normal user, is there a way to switch my entire KDE session over to root priveledges, without logging off my normal user? I already know how to use the su command to switch between users, but that only works inside the Konsole, not for the whole KDE session. Thanks.

I don't know about su'ing the hole session but I assume that you want to use kcontrol, the KDE Control Center, as root. You can do this instead:

$ xhost +
$ su
# kcontrol

I have heard that if you install KDE in a /home directory for each user, then you can run multiple KDE sessions, as each one has its own config file. I dont know for sure though if that is accurate, since I have not done that myself. I dont even know how you would do it.
