swap and raid 1

is it a good idea to ride swap or not?

someone says..you don't need to its just temporary data
someone ...your system can crash if the swap area drive fails and you are not riding swap partition

so?

You answered your own question. The data is volitile, but if uptime is important to you then you want it in RAID-1.
