Aside from that little bit of info I don't have anything to add above what bert has suggested.

windows xp is already installed, i got no problem to boot windows from grub. the last time i boot windows is just several min. ago, the booting problem of grub is still there. anyway, i can get into linux through suse-dvd, so it must be a problem of grub.
