SUSE Shutdown slowly

I use SUSE 10, I noticed that the shutdown / reboot is too slow, I saw the following lines at the shutdown / reboot ,
Laying out /etc/probe.d/.......
why is that?

not sure on the /etc/probe.d/.. but if you want it to shutdown quick I use

shutdown -hfn now

using the -f and -n options makes it faster, but it doesn't check as much. if you do a 'man shutdown' it shows all thoes options.

On another note, if this is recent what have you installed lately?

this is the shutdown side of preloading.
You can disable preloading of specific apps of /etc/preload.d/ by delete app names you don't want to run in the /usr/bin/appspreloader.sh script. Add and subtract apps in this script as you please.

http://en.opensuse.org/SUPER_preloading for a bunch more information.
