SuSE 9.2 startup problems

When I start SuSE 9.2 it boots up in command line not KDE. I think this is because I was forced to do a hard shutdown while in command line. But I don't know the command to start kde. Does anyone know what command to use to start KDE?

if suse is like slack or mdk you then alter (with root power) your /etc/inittab file to change to id 5
my line looks like this

id:5:initdefault:

then reboot to test
