SuSE 9.1 suspend-to-disk: resume doesn't work

Hi,
i would like to use suspend to disk under linux (i have SuSE9.1 installed on my Athlon XP 2200+, 512 MB RAM, newest kernel update from Yast). After unblocking user_suspend in /etc/powersave.conf i can execute

powersave --suspend

and the system shuts down after writing the session to disk but when i want to resume the system crashes. When booting up it first tells me that reading was successfull (and some other messages i can't remember) but then he's freezing with the screen full of pixel nonsense. Did anybody have the same problems and find a solution?

cheers
m
