SuSE 8.1 and RAID

Hey there,

Okay, I posted earlier a problem I had, thinking it was the video card but now I have pin pointed it to be the RAID controller.

When I ran the installer in Text Mode, it reported some problems with IDE controllers. I then disconnected and Adaptec 1200A RAID Controller I had, and voila! The installer ran in Text Mode to certain extent. After some time, a little window says there was a problem with the installer and it quits.

If I try to run the installer in graphical mode, the screen goes blank and some distorted images appear on top of the screen after 3 - 5 minutes.

I believe the problem resides either in the Video Card or in the Motherboard. The video card is a Radeon 9700 Pro, and the motherboard is an Asus A7N8X Deluxe. Has anyone had a similar problem with SuSE 8.1 Pro? I'm installing it from the DVD.

Thanks.
