Suse 10.1 Splash screen question

Hey guys!
I hope that I am in the right forum thread for this question. But I am using linux suse 10.1, with KDE 3.5. What I am trying to do is to be able to make my own splash screen when you log in. I downloaded a copule of splash screens from KDE-look.org, and took a look at them, and there is not much there. A file called theme.rc, with a couple lines of coding, and the splash screen images. They work in the theme manager, but the second I try it with my own files it don't work? I know I am missing something, I tried googling it but nothing came up. So I didn't know if anyone knows what I need to do? Or if someone can point me in the right direction, casue I am lost. LOL.

Thanks

OH one more thing.

Is there a way to change the icons in the login manager? I know in SUSE 9.1 or 9.2. You could chage them, but I can't figure it with 10.1.

Thanks

Any errors?

No there are no errors at all, all it does is just load the default splash screen.
