SUSE 10.1 - Proxy configuration error message
I'm a linux newbie. I'm using SUSE 10.1. I have networking working well (with two other Windows PCs in my home network, but I can't network with another SUSE Linux PC here at home) and I also have good internet connectivity. However, at random times I get the following error message. Can anyone tell me what it means?
"Automatic Proxy Configuration - Could not find a usable proxy configuration script".
Thanks for any help anyone can give!

You probably need to open a port or two on the SuSE box to permit connections. You'll need to decide what protocol you will use, and that will tell you what port(s) to open. By default, SuSE loads have the firewall on and most ports blocked. I think you may be able to do this in Yast2, Security and Users, Firewall.
