su error: password invalid

Hi all.

I'm getting a invalid password error when I su to root, but I when I log to the machine as root I use that password and it's correct...

Does anyone knows whats happening???

That happened to me a while ago, after an accidental removal of the suid bit of /bin/su. So check the permissions on that file, if needed chmod the right permission set.

nope, the premissopn is right...

It's the same as the other linux server we have here and in the other it works...
