stream wmv files?


hi there do u know how i can view wmv files from any web browser in linux?

It depends on the browser and the plugins/programs on your box.

Netscape, mozilla (firebird??) and opera can use plugger:

http://fredrik.hubbe.net/plugger.html

I 'plugged' in mplayer to play movies/sounds in opera using the extension/mimetype of the files I want to see/hear.

I don't use konqueror, although I've heared good things about it. I guess you can aply the solution I used for opera.

There must be a section that deals with extension and what to do with them if konqueror encounters them:

MIME type: video/x-ms-wmv
Extension: wmv
Open with other application: mplayer -vo xv

But this might not be the most practical/elegant solution for konqueror, maybe somebody that uses konqueror can answer that question.
