strange happenings here at Linux .... cdrecord ??

Hi. Im still (fairly) new to Linux. Anyways I type 'cdrecord -scanbus' as 'su' and get the following>

CdRecord1.11a24( i686-Linux-Gnu) Copyright 1995-2002 Jorg Shilling
cdrecord: No such file or directory. cannot open /dev/pg*. cannot open scsi driver.
cdrecord: for possible targets try: 'cdrecord -scanbus'. Make sure you are root

I am root and am typing cdrecord -scanbus
and can mount umount the cd-rw drive easily enuf.

any help appreciated :)

Your CD-R/RW is working as a regular CD-ROM, you need to turn on scsi emulation for it. Search forums here this question was asked recently.
