startup autoexec type file? (to set resolution mainly)

I installed SliTaz on one of my old PCs and want to issue some startup commands. In particular xrandr to change resolution and numlockx to turn on numlock.

I've tried .xprofile, it doesn't use that (verified by trying to touch a file).

I'm new to SliTaz but somewhat familiar with Linux from using Bodhi(ubuntu) already, but bodhi has its own distro-specific startup file so I'm not familiar with more generic solutions...

I use a global application method, putting a one line script containing xrandr somewhere in /etc/X11/. In Debian that script is in /etc/X11/Xsession.d/.

These need to be executed after Xorg is started.
Problem is, I have no idea HOW slitaz starts Xorg?
And what window manager?
On my system (arch linux) Xorg looks for & excutes ~/.xinitrc.

The window manager is openbox. Older kernel too, linux 3.16.55.

I don't have /etc/X11/session.d folder

I tried putting something in /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d but that doesn't get executed...

I do have ~/.xinitrc and tried putting commands at the end of it, don't seem to get executed either...

Problem is, I don't really even know what xorg is

That's not what I typed in comment #2.

Did you make it an executable file using chmod? Did you restart Xorg or the PC after creating it?

I'm pretty sure if you asked Google it would give you some links that would explain. It should also provide links to restarting Xorg if you ask for it. https://www.x.org/ would be a start, but it might not have the kind of explanation you're looking for, since it's foundational, not something one normally interacts with directly. Not everyone even uses it. There's a newfangled substitute for it called Wayland that still can be pretty buggy.

I had searched their forum for resolution and got stuck, but searching for autostart yielded results that work!

Putting desktop files in ~/.config/autostart.

Not sure if this is the only way, but it works.

Glad you got it solved.

There's also:
Putting commands in ~/.config/openbox/autostart
