starting/restarting services on SLES 9

Hello, I recently switched fron running RH9 to Suse Linux Enterprise Server 9. On my red hat box, I could start/stop/restart services with the following command

service service_name restart

This doesn't work on Suse, and I could not find anything appropriate using the man pages to find the equivelant.

Anyone help me out?

In Red Hat, the service command is basically an alias for /etc/init.d. You can do one of two things: 1) Copy /sbin/service from a Red Hat machine to your Suse server (its just a shell script), or 2) get in the habit of saying
Code:
/etc/init.d/service_name restart
