start kde-panel from command line
I wanted to know how i can start kde-panel from command line........Actually i am using gnome and wanted have a kde-panel instead of a gnome-panel......Is it possible to do so????......If not, then is there any method by which i can add kde-panel menu items to gnome-panle...????
Does anybody have a clue to it??? |
Well, to start the kde panel (which kde calls 'kicker') you just need to run 'kicker'. As for if this will work under gnome... ???

Thanks....."kicker" worked ......
Is there a way i could add kde panel items such as system tray or klipper to gnome-panel........I want this because sometimes the gnome-notification-area applet in gnome-panel ( ...similar to system tray in kde...) is not able to put kde applications ( like knotes...) in its tray after minimizing..... Any ideas???? |

Perhaps you could have gnome-panel at the top of your screen and kicker at the bottom...then you have best of both worlds (and a crowded desktop...) |
