it is always a drag for me to download the image files. Often i get 80% of the image and then the server is just not giving me any more. It is kind of like not letting me login or whatever, but from work its not a problem. I don't think its because of that special time i downloaded and the server being particularly busy coz it happens so often and at very different times of t he day. ANd i try different mirrors. Same problem.

I try and download two or three 700MB files from a mirror at a time. My settings are divide each file into 5 parts and download... IF i time out or lose the connection retry in 30 seconds.
Is this getting me banned from the server or something?

It depends on the server

what you are doing, splitting the dl, is considred to be "cheating" on servers that throttle bandwidth. Try one single strait download, or better yet, go find a torrent.
