Ssh without prompting for a password

Hi,
I want to login in a ssh server without prompting for a password.
I have read the post "Public key authentication with ssh" in:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ticle&artid=79
but it doesn't work (The sshd continues prompting me for a password)

The two only differences between my case and the case related in the post is that I want to login from a linux ssh client to a irix ssh server (and not linux ssh server like in the post) and what, in irix, the .authorized_keys file is named .authorization for default.

Is there another difference between linux and irix ssh server that could cause the error?

Thank you!!

are you using the sgi ssh server or the freeware open ssh? I use the freeware one on irix 6.5 on a octane and i dont need a password. You set it up like the linux ssh with an .authorized_keys file get the freeware open ssl & open ssh packages from the sgi freeware page and try these
