It had 767, I tried 770 and then 700 that was the only one that worked and now only I have access to my home dir. Ive had to move many programs to /var (which actually I don't mind too much)

755 didn't work for you (although, I suppose it's moot now that this is solved)? 757 allows anyone to put files in your home directory (which is a scary idea).

755 works obviously it doesn't like anyone to have write privs even your own group, well I need another user to have write privs so having the files in /var is the best I think with 700 for my home dir.
