Source of LibreOffice

LibreOffice is open source and where can I we get the source of it?

If you're using a distro with repositories, and have the relevant source repository enabled, you should be able to download a copy of the source through your package manager.

The exact command differs depending on your package manager, which you haven't specified.

I put libreoffice source into DuckDuckGo and found https://www.libreoffice.org/about-us/source-code/.

EDIT: The very first search result, which I originally overlooked due to its darkish background, is https://github.com/LibreOffice/core.

This is much like most of your other threads, where you seem to expect others to look things up for you. Read the "Question Guidelines".

I warn you, building LibreOffice from source is very difficult. First it has a huge number of dependencies, and it also needs to download ephemeral bits and pieces from the LO site during the build. You can find full instructions in Beyond Linux From Scratch.

I did it once, a long time ago. built it from source. Though I do not know why one would want to do that if it is already in the repo, unless they are going to improve on the code, then submit it back to them.

I do it all the time on FreeBSD, BUT...I am using a ports system that does the build and dependencies for me. Agree completely - unless you are updating the code, not much point in building yourself. Even on FreeBSD, I don't change any of the build options; I just do it because I am using ports and not pre-built packages.
