Sounds like a problem ?

My sound card seems to work fine when playing KDE sounds or files on XMMS. But when it comes to the "Play" or "sox" command, it returns the message "/dev/dsp: Device or resource busy". Thus, causing a problem in some programs such as Java, Flash, or AMSN. So what can I do?
