I am running Gentoo on kernel version 2.6.17 with ALSA built-in. My question is, how do I lower the BIOS beep on my Thinkpad T60p laptop. I have PCM at 84%, front speaker at 86% in alsamixer.
My problem is that I will be playing some music and the BIOS beep will always play louder than the music. It is really annoying hitting a wrong key in the console and have my ears blasted out by this beep on the headphones. I don't want to disable it because it is necessary but I would like to take the beep down a few notches so it is more subtle.
Any ideas or websites I could go to that could give me more information on this? I have gone to the ALSA website and didn't find any clear answers to my issue.
