Question Soundblaster Live! drivers

I am new to Unix(1.5 weeks) and I am working my way through understanding the OS. I noticed that creative labs has a driver for my sound card. I have to preface this by saying that my soundcard works fine. I was wondering are there any benefits for installing the linux drivers provided by creative labs? If so, is it worth going through the installation of these drivers?

No probably not. Linux sblive! drivers are sub-par but work good for basic stuff. The only thing we need is 3d audio support and stuff.

True...The Creative drivers aren't any better than the emu10k1 driver linux uses. My Live! card even works better in Linux than Windows with the standard ones.. Go finger that one...
