Unhappy sound quality in kde

Hi People. I got my KDE setup just the way I want. There's only one problem, my sounds come out scrambled half the time. ("scrambled" as in a LOUD shhhhhhhhhhhh) It gets annoying to my parents and siblings(i'm only 13). The speakers are power assisted, and I don't have them plugged into Line out. They sometimes sound right, but mess up before it reaches the end of the sound clip. P.s. I can only test system sounds because I dont have any sound files on my 20gb linux partition, or my 20gb Xp part.
I realy want my sound to work. Thanks for the help.

i had the same problem, do you have an nforce2 board?

the way i got around it was... not to use KDE. i'm in gnome now and it works perfectly. may not FIX the problem, but it's a workaround in case you were looking for one.

I have a NEW Microtel (SYSWM5010) computer with motherboard sound and video. The only pci card in it is an old scsi controller card.
