Question sound blaster live!

Hi!!

I'm a new to this linux world. Anyway I hope to be competent. I would like to ask you if you know what can I do to set up my sound blaster live 1024!!

I've been trying during almost one month with some pages' instructions but nothing.

I use Suse 8.0 with kernel 2.4.18. I don't really know if I have alsa installed but I think it comes with it.

I really can listen to the music, the problem are the rear speakers, and as I work with audio and video it's important for me...

when I start alsamixer i just can find master, master mono and bass/treble controls... it's suposed to have also rear controls...

maybe updating alsa... but I don't know how to do it!!

thanks for your time.

Hi

the only thing *I* found was in the yast2, soundcard section to configure manualy and permanent the rear output. it works, but is not comfortable... you may try it or not...

cheers

Hi

Ok. Start yast2. You will have to type in your root password. Then, in the section hardware, you will find the task for soundcards. Open this one. Now you should see an entry for the creative sb live! There, you'll find a button to edit this card. You will find several fields, where you can setup every channel. Because i can't see it in the moment, you'll have to try and find out which one it is... I hope this helps, else i'll give you more accurate info tomorrow...

good luck ;-)))
