Some questions about IceWM

Im somewhat new to linux, but im learning fast. I always used redhat (ive tried debian and freebsd and mandrake) but I like redhat the best. Im currently using version7.3 on my laptop, but it seemed to be a real resource hog (gnome + nautilus). I recently switched over to IceWM which I must say is the best thing ive used on my laptop as far as window managers go. I have an AMD K62 475 cpu w/ 196MB ram. Anywho, im still learning alot about IceWM, but there are a few things I just cant seem to figure out... here goes:

#1: Does IceWM have a "startup" ? Id like to start some programs when ice starts, but i cant seem to figure it out.

#2: I HATE nautilus with a passion, but I like GMC because its simple to use and doesnt hog as much resources. GMC will put icons on my desktop when I run it, but I seem to remember a right-click menu when I was running gnome that let me arrange icons, etc - how do I get this in Ice?

#3: When I leave my laptop on for a while, it just freezes up. I kinda assume that it has something to do with a sleep/suspend mode, but I cant seem to find what im looking for. Ive disabled all related options in the BIOS, but maybe redhat has something else somewhere that I need to disable?

Thanks a bunch guys, I hope to participate in this forum alot as I learn linux and help others learn too!

Have you seen this page? May help some.

I believe you can start apps when you start ice if you make an .xinitrc file.

There is two menu files that IceWM uses called; menu
and tasklbar. When I install them from source there under
/usr/local/lib/X11/icewm do a find for them:

find / -name menu and find / -name taskbar.

Also check freshmeat.net I seen some IceWM addons listed

To start prgrams write the entries in file called .xsessoins , u can also give the window manager u like in the .xinitrc check this and write the feedback

Nice, thanks for the tips guys!

Im gonna try this stuff out. Also, if you use IceWM - IceME and IceWM Config are 2 good utils for managing some stuff in ice
