Autorun is no problem in linux either if you have it setup to do it

Really?

Please tell me how to do this. I am running Vector Linux 1.8. I don't believe I'll ever stop setting up my Linux box. Theres always something else that I didn't realize was possible and when it is I want it. Also if there is a way to get Linux a little more simplified then I may be able to convert a few of my friends over.

the way it works is by looking at the contents of the cd, it will either launch a cd player, or explorer, or maybe a web browser. If you put in a disc with RPM's on it, it will launch gnorpm.

gnome and kde both have an applet for doing it.

also you may be able to work your own scripts to open certain apps by having a script look at the mtab file
