SMP Problem

Hi,

On Slackware 9.1, the only way to use Hyperthreading, was the enable SMP, and it worked, at startup I used to see two tuxes.

But in Slackware 10.0, SMP just wont work, I compiled kernel 2.6.8.1 with SMP support and when I load the kernel with Hyperthreading enabled from the BIOS settings the kernel won't boot, I see a blank screen, lest you think that this is a framebuffer problem read furhter
When I disable HT the kernel boots, and I see a single Tux. HOW can I enabled SMP?

the only thing i can think of is possibly you forgot to enable
Advanced Programmable Interrupt Controller (APIC) support in the kernel
that allows the local register interupt handeling and redirection for each of the two cpus
(or halves of the one cpu)

i think there is also a config thing in there now SCHED_SMT and you ned that

beyond that just compare the old .config to the new one and be prepared for stuff to be moved around
has to be something left out or different
