Ok i am sure this is some easy fix that i just dont know about but i am trying to make a small program that uses kalarm to triger my own .sh script to back up a folder. I can run it and it gets passed zipping the folder and oping a ftp connection but then it stops waithing for me to enter the password / user name. if some one can tell me what is wrong or what i need to change please do so. thanks
#!/bin/sh
zip -r /test.zip /root/Desktop/vpn
cp /test.zip /root/Desktop
ftp -u ftp.ibackup.com # gets to this point then waits for the password i get a ftp>.
user username password
lcd /root/Desktop
cd /
put test.zip
quit
