Slow Logins
 

Hello,

I spent all weekend rebuilding this box with RH9. I have updated OO and Mozilla to the most recent versions. Now when I log in, it hangs for a few seconds. This is not normal for this machine. I have tried it with all of my users and it hangs for all of the users locally. I also have a smb network and when I log into this box from Windows, it takes a while to authenticate there as well.

Anyone know what the problem might be? Thanks.

Well, you can all disregard this if you want. I figured it out by myself. I had set up the authentication to use Kerberos for logging in. When I deselected that, everything went back to normal.

However, does someone know why that would make the authentication process so slow? I thought Kerberos was the "great" authentication method now.
