slax proc # fdisk hda Unable to open hda

Hello

Unfortunately I can't figure out, what is wrong here.

I have booted the pc with a live cd, I can see the windows partition mounted
slax Desktop # pwd
/mnt/hda1/Documents and Settings/Administrator/Desktop
slax Desktop # ls
Command\ Prompt.lnk FileZilla_Server-0_9_22.exe Track01.cda ie6setup.exe tightvnc-1.2.9-setup.exe
FileZilla_2_2_30.zip Firefox\ Setup\ 2.0.0.1.exe chat.txt putty.exe

following are all of the checks I have done. HD is 40gb. hda1 is 20G NTFS. I cant create more partitions...?

Are you typing "fdisk /dev/hda" or just "fdisk hda". If the latter then that is your problem. If not the latter what is the exact message you are seeing?
