Slackware+openSUSE+XP


I would like to install openSUSE with existing slack n XP. Ok, I take free partition and install it. Now the Question - Will suse's grub add slack and xp to it's menu?

If you install GRUB to the MBR, then most likely yes.
If you install GRUB to the root partition, then no. Then you can keep your LILO from Slackware, and update LILO in Slackware to include your SUSE.

Interesting question. I don't know how well GRUB and LILO interact. It seems rather unlikely that you'd be able to boot Slackware from GRUB if you use LILO but I may be wrong.

Yes I'm going to install grub into MBR. I'm scared..) I'll kill that Chameleon if things goes wrong!

I was able to boot to slack from grub but it shows me "correct root= boot option". How to set up grub now with ro option for slack partition? Any ideas?
