slackware is so screwed now

Nooooooooo my linux is so screwed

grrr now i know why it wont mount

but im still confused when i try and do insmod vfat

it does this /lib/modules/2.4.8-26mdk/modules.dep (no such file or directory) there is no kernel called 2.4.8-26mdk in that directory there is only 2.4.5 and 2.2.9

wtf i dont get it it trys to grab the module from a totally dif directory ???????????????????/

i think it might be because i had mandrake on that drive before and all i did was format not fdisk /mbr and it didnt overwrite mandrakes kernel and stuff... i dunno wtf

please help

If the module is in the /lib/modules/2.xxxx folder for your kernel somewhere then it should work

just type modprobe vfat

or rebuild the kernel and make it built in.

2.4.8mdk was the Mandrake 8.1 shipping kernel... der...:

dmesg | more

And if you see that you have a kernel that was NOT compiled by root@bigkitty, then how did you get a Mandrake kernel on your Slack box?

Luck,

Finegan
