Slackware crashes

Need Help!!!

I am rather new to linux and having a problem. I am running Slackware 8 with Kernel-2.4.17 on a celeron 400 with 128MB RAM. I am using it as a dial-up server for a few people and using ppp and megetty. My problem is that the machine just crashes and i have to switch it off and back on again. How do i determine which program crah the machine or what causes the crash.

Thanks

Isak

Checked messages and also syslog and the logfiles from squid that is running on the box. Nothing in there. It is just if the machine stops responding to everything. Can't ping modems does not answer nothing at all. Keyboard does not react too.

yeah, if something is causing the machine to freeze up and not crash.. if it freezes, it most likely won't write anything to log files cause it can't.. not sure what is causing the machine to freeze.

No, not running X. Just plain command line with pppd, mgetty, squid and sendmail.
