Size of physical RAM

hello friends,

can you plz help me in finding the size of the physical ram on the computer.

/proc/kore some time show the false value. So what is the perfect and robust option for knowing the size of Physical RAM except manually.

using suse : 9.2

Thanx in advance.

grep -i memtotal /proc/meminfo should do it unless you have insufficient kernel support for your RAM size - High Memory support is needed for RAM size in excess of 850 or so megabytes.
