Shutting down IO devices in SMP architecture

Hi All,

We were trying to parallelism the shutting down the IO system device as the part of the softreboot in unix on multiprocessor architecture.

As of now only monarch is doing IO shutdown by stoping other cpu after moving the all other cpu activities to monarch , so we need some ideas how we can make multiple cpus can involve in IO shutdown before cpus go down as the part of reboot or softreboot.
