shutting down
i recently installed suse linux 9 pro, and im having some trouble shutting down. whenever i log off and shut down, the screen goes black and i can still move my cursor. it stays here until i end up pulling the plug. anyone know what's wrong?

Try pressing Ctrl-alt-backspace to kill xfree86 (the GUI) and then type poweroff. alternatively you can shutdown by pressing ctrl-alt-f1 and then alt-f3 and typing poweroff, either should work equally well.
