shutting computer off with own user in tty


How can I shutdown my computer in tty without root?

i suppose you could give your user x permissions for init 0 runlevel.

just a guess though.

sorry i haven't tried it. Have you ever tried shutdown now, halt -p
or things like that because i know you must have certain privilege
or something to shutdown i have read that theres a shutdown i just
cant remember if it is a group or a user i think it has a permission on
shutting down i am not really sure but i think it is true because there
is a floppy group a group that can access and has floppy permissions! £Ä3

You can also modify /etc/inittab so that control alt delete will shutdown the system
