showing action status on mouse in gnome

I want to know if there are any way to show the progress of some action in the mouse cursor, like kde, windows. When we click to open an aplication on kde the cursor changes showing that it is opem the app ... can I do the same in gnome?

yeah, but i'm not sure what the default mouse theme has. I use a mouse theme from and it has a nice startup-notification animation.
