Shortcuts?

I am using Redhat 8 and Kde with Opera 7.11, and i cannot figure out how to save a url as a shortcut on my desktop like in windows how you can right click and save to desktop, or how can i just save the url in a folder so i dont have to use operas bookmarks, Thanks

Dude, thats very simple. Right click on the desktop. Go to "create new" from menu, and then select "link to location (URL)" . The rest is straight forward.
The only think is, it will open the konqueror browser instead of opera.

Just out of interest what's wrong with Opera's bookmarks (never used it)

Can you not edit (in the KDE Control Center, under file association) .html (or whatever) to be associated with Opera as the default browser?

I'm not on linux, nor have I used KDE for quite some time, so I'm just wondering if that won't work?

Cool

You certainly can right-click on the icon on your desktop and edit its properties, including path and program to be started...
