Sheel Script


Hi
this is subbu. I want to write a shell script to copy some files from my network. i can write the script from to copy the files from my network.
but i want exclude and include some files in this shell script .
B]what is the command to exclude and include files in shell script [/B]
can any one give some idea

rsync support --exclude directive, you may check the manual of rsync.

Hi hutuworm


Thanks for ur help. I thing its possible to rsync command to copy the some exclude files from one local mountable directory to other local directory . i dont know how to use this command for exclude files . can u pl help me

example: rsync -av --exclude thedir /home/blah /usr/lol/

HI hutuworm

Great .Thanks for your kind help. I thing the same . rsync command its possible to use delete the files from
the source or destination folder.or files at the same time its possible to exclude the files for deleation job
its any other command for this job. or i can use the same command for this job
can u pl advice in this part and also tell me how to use rsync command for deletion

rsync also support --delete directive, you may check the manual of rsync to get a full view.
