Setting up ODBC on RedHat to talk to DB2 on AS400

Hi all,

I'm very inexperienced with Linux in general but i've managed to set up a Redhat installation to be used as a database server running Oracle. That's all working fine but as part of the application i'm building i need to enable the Oracle database to communicate with an AS400 system. I've got this working fine on an Oracle database running on a Windows machine using ODBC (the ODBC driver comes from the iSeries client software but i don't have this for Linux). I've looked at various sites and tried to configure unixODBC but with no luck. I've also tried setting up DataDirect using a trial version but that's proving troublesome as well (and i'd like to avoid having to pay for this package as well).

Is there a simple way to set ODBC up without having to buy the software? or a recommended route i should try?

Cheers
