Setting up NVidia TV-out on Fedora Core

I'm trying to get my Fedora Core 6 MythTV box to output to both a 17" CRT (1280x1024) and a regular analog TV using my motherboards built-in tv-out port (Asus M2NPV-VM GF6150 AM2). I have successfully updated to the latest NVidia drivers (1.0-9746) and have been trying to configure the settings through the NVidia X Server Settings window. However, I can't get it to output to the TV. In particular, I've tried using the following /etc/X11/xorg.conf configuration file:

Code:
# nvidia-settings: X configuration file generated by nvidia-settings
# nvidia-settings: version 1.0 (buildmeister@builder3) Fri Dec 15 10:13:06 PST 2006

But when I go and restart my x-server (logout -> login), I get an error that it can't start the x-server and forces me to go back to a default xorg.conf file. Here's the x-server log file:

I should note that I'm able to output to just the TV if I disconnect the 17" CRT monitor, but it would be nice to be able to have a "dual-head" setup.

Does anyone have any familiarity with Fedora Core 6 and the Asus M2NPV-VM motherboard and know how to get the TV-out properly working?

Dave

nvidia drivers are horrible in supporting advanced features of X -- especially when it comes to several monitors on or mixed chips. It is theoretically possible to do this but I doubt you will have any luck as the drivers are poorly written.

im not seeing any TwinView settings in your conf without that you will not get output to both displays.

FYI, in the past i have only been successful with 1 res mode setting working on BOTH at the same time. not sure if that has changed, but if you are pushing out HDTV then your TV should go at least to 1024x768 or something like that, doubt your TV can go up to 1280x1024

Update:

I should note that I was told in a different forum that with this motherboard, per its spec, "RGB and TV-Out can not be used simultaneously". Hence the reason I couldn't get my TV-out and CRT monitor working together. Has nothing to do with Linux and everything to do with the hardware.

Thanks,
Dave
