setting refresh rate for dual display monitors

I'm running Redhat Enterprise Linux 4. I just installed a Matrox Millenium G450 AGP video card and dual display NEC Multisync LCD 2070NX monitors. Optimal resolution is 1600x1200. Each time I set my resolution to 1600x1200, spanning display, I get the following error from my monitor, "Out of range". I believe that this is probably the refresh rate. I'm not sure how to confirm what refresh rate I'm running or how to change it. Ideas on how to do this? I need to verify that my refresh rate is 60Hz. Thanks.

please take a look into your /etc/X11/xorg.conf
look for section called "Monitor"
It should say something like that:
/* see specification in your manual: Synchronisation Range */
HorizSync 31.5-91.1
VertRefresh 56.0-85.0

Actualy the stuff should be detected automaticly (the wonders of DDC) but sometime
the vendors fail to update there eeproms :( so this gets sometimes wrong.
The rest should be done automaticly.

btw: if you blow your monitor it not my problem :)
