Setting locale failed??

Hi guys,

after a dist-upgrade of my debian system, I have some problems.

One which seems to be the worst of them all, produces the following output:

debconf-show dpkg-dev (for a bunch of other progs as well)

perl: warning: Setting locale failed.

perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings:

LANGUAGE = "german",

LC_ALL = "german",

LC_CTYPE = "german",

LANG = "english"

are supported and installed on your system.

perl: warning: Falling back to the standard locale ("C").

The problem is: what does it mean? If have absolutely no clue what this message wants to indicate. I guess it is something with the charsets, but I am not sure. Any help is appreciated since even my XF86Setup refuses to work as it throws a 'Segmentation Fault'. But that's another problem ;-)

Cheers, Sebastian.

Hi,
it seems that I messed up the installation of a new xserver. Since the dist-upgrade replaced a lot of other essential libraries, nothing was like it used to be ,-)
Finally I dumped my installation and reinstalled it from sratch :-(

Cheers, Sebastian.
