Setting File permission to Mounted Directory

After mounting a FAT file system to my directory, not able to set the write permission to group and others. pls let em know how can i set the same

Use the option umask=0 or (uid,gid) in fstab

You can make a search on LQ

file permission
 

still no change

......not able to set file permission ( write to others and groups )to directory after mounting a fat file system to it.
