session specific for multiple terminal work

Dear friends,

I remembered i read from a unix survival booklet that stated about a way to run a platform that can run multiple terminal session at the same time. Running multiple session at same time meant nothing special because normal gnome session can do that, what i mean i can lock multiple terminals on one screen at the same time so enable fast command prompt work. By clicking on one terminal it doesn;t minimize the other one..I am not sure if anyone can understand me clearly...i don't know how to explain but i have seen that just can't remember what is it thereby can't find the installation.
I am using fc6, not sure if its available by default.

Hope there are people who can understand my blur description of what i am looking for...thanks for taking time reading

You might want to look at a tool called 'screen'.
