server tuning

I'd like to know as a linux system administrator the things I need to do to keep my server in good condition. What are the things I need to do to fine tune my server as it has become a little slow?

A reminder, I am new to the job as an administrator. Therefore, I'd appreciate simple, but effective answers to my queries.

Regards,
Mufy

Slow in what respect?

Ideas:
Rotate your logs!

Keep an eye on security updates for the packages installed.

As your user base grows, realize when the proper time to add an additonal machine becomes necessary, pawn certain tasks off to those boxes, such as the mail serving, DNS...

Cool
